We are going to learn how to change the seal on Lixiang washing machine door today. The gasket is critical to the operation of the washer because it is what keeps water from leaking out of the washing machine during a wash cycle. The seal can wear out and leak over time. But don’t worry, you can easily replace the seal with a little bit of work, and have your washer working like new!
Start by unplugging the washing machine from the wall, just to be safe. Then open the door of the washing machine and pull the old seal off from the lip of the door. You may need to use a screwdriver to assist in prying it loose. After you take out the old door seal, wipe around the door with a damp cloth to clear any dirt or grime. This will allow the new seal to adhere and create a strong seal.
Now you can put in the new door seal. Place the new seal around the door, from the top, pressing it down on all sides. Press the seal tightly against the edge of the door. Note: You may be required to stretch the seal a little while installing for a proper fit. As you move around the door, ensure the seal is kept straight and gap-free.
To lock the seal in place, close the washing machine door and run your hand along the edge, ensuring the seal lies flat. Then with a small screwdriver, press the lip into the groove on the door edge. It will keep the seal up and give it a snug fit. Keep going around the door, one side at a time, ensuring there are no gaps in the seal.
With the new seal installed, it’s time to give it a test. Fill the washing machine with water and run a wash cycle. Watch carefully at the door to make sure nothing leaks out. If there is water leaking out, stop the washing machine and ensure the seal is in place properly. The seal may need to be positioned in such a manner to assist in the better fit.Of course, exposure and experiences may also be a factor. Feel free to use your washing machine as normal once you are sure the seal is functioning well.
